Today we have our first game, ICELAND VS THE GOLD PHANTOMS VS HYPO SQUIRRELS. The game is water balloon shot put. Its 27 degrees C today, so it will be a good day for it. It'll be really awesome and fun.

LOVE
Love is red just like roses, or hearts.
Love tastes like chocolates wrapped in tin foil ready to eat.
Love smells like a boquet with a ribbons with flowers.
Love might be a dinner for two or a dance or going to the movies.
Love feels like what ever you can imagine.
Love is romantic.

Winter Sports Tournament
On Wednesday 28 July 8 people from our class room participated in the winter tournament. They were Sammi O., Jenna, me, Jonah, Luke, Brad , Nic and Izobella.
All the boys were in rugby and all the girls were in netball. All the netball girls won 1 time ,
drew 2 times and lost 1 time. The rugby people people lost all of their games. We all enjoyed it and we would definitely recommend it.

Netball Win!
This afternoon the Woodend Year 5/6 A and B Teams played against Kaiapoi North School at Gladstone Park. Both teams won their games and really enjoyed the competition. There was such a lot of good team spirit from both sides. Well done girls!

Kaiapoi Music Festival (Choir)
On Monday 21st and Tuesday 22nd of June was the Kaiapoi Music Festival at Kaiapoi Bourough school. It was AWESOME! The Woodend instrumental group came to play some music as well. After the concert we got chocolate fish & lollies. On Monday Mr Barber (principal of Woodend School) came to do some speaking and on Tuesday the principal of Kaiapoi North School came to do some speaking too. We sang: Proud Mary, Taku Papawira, Six Months in a Leaky Boat, Swing Low Sweet Chariot, Daisy Bell, This Train, Chatanooga Choo Choo, Row Row Row Your Boat, Yellow Submarine, Up Up and Away, Sailing, Little Deuce Coupe and the National Anthem. The other schools got to sing at least two songs of their own. Also the Kaiapoi North School instrumental group got to perform as well. It was a lot of memorizing, but it was the most funnest thing I've ever experienced in my life!!!!

A Special Friend
Hi I'm a librarian and my name is Izobella and I'm in Room 13. I'm going to talk to you about my librarian duty. OK then, here we go. Now my librarian partner is Miss Courtney Day. And she's WONDERFUL, just wonderful I tell you. She's 9 years old and Year 5 . She has a brother, NO sisters. A mother, a father and a cat called Stinie. I normally go to her house after school and the day I go to her house is on Thursday. And our class that we do library duty for is room 4, the teacher in room 4 I know her because, I used to be in room 2 and she taught me. I was a year 2 I think. When I first found out I was a librarian I was so so so so glad and proud and also, now I have got 2 badges. One green and one red. If I get an orange one it'll be traffic lights! So I'm now a librarian and I don't think i'll get an orange badge.
Thank you,
Izobella.

The Witches

Author : Roald Dahl
Illustrator : Quentin Blake
Publisher : The Penguin group
Four words to describe this book are : Witches, Thrilling, Frightening and Entertaining.
This book is special because : When I was reading I could imagine everything happening like a movie in my head.
Two new words I learned from reading this book are : Triumph and Ancient.
My favourite part of the story is : When the boy takes revenge by turning the witches into MICE!
