Winter Sports Tournament

On Wednesday 28 July 8 people from our class room participated in the winter tournament. They were Sammi O., Jenna, me, Jonah, Luke, Brad , Nic and Izobella.
All the boys were in rugby and all the girls were in netball. All the netball girls won 1 time ,
drew 2 times and lost 1 time. The rugby people people lost all of their games. We all enjoyed it and we would definitely recommend it.

Rain

Rain is blue like the shining ocean.

It tastes like water from the river.

It smells like nothing but a dolphin in the sea.

Rain sparkles in the dark clouds.

It feels like an invisible speck in my dream.

Sporty Day!

Last Wednesday was a busy, sporty day at Woodend.

In the morning, all the students participated in the Cross Country. I was so impressed with how everyone joined in and gave it their best, whether they were running as part of a relay team or in the individual races.
Special congratulations to the following Room 13 students who did outstandingly in their age groups: Jenna (1st), Sammi (3rd) and Karl (1st) and Nic (3rd). They are all off to run at Kaiapoi tomorrow and Jenna will be competing in the Zones also. Awesome!

Later, in the afteroon, we all went to watch the senior soccer team play against Kaiapoi. A special TV crew were there to film it and we got to practise our awesome cheerleading skills!

Anzac Day

This week in New Zealand and Austrailia on Sunday 25th of April is ANZAC day. It stands for Australia New Zealand Army Corps. Our class have been reading Grandad's Medals, The Bantam and the Soldier, A Present from the Past, Harry and the Anzac Poppy and Wearing the Poppy.
Me and Sammi my friend are going to Dawn Service on Sunday. This week I've learnt a saying that you say on Anzac day, "We Will Remember Them."
